Event note and invitation to report on our event

Discovering Nature in the Green Belt around Frankfurt
A tour full of experiences for parents and children alike

On Sunday, June 1st, children and their parents are cordially invited to come and experience nature in all its color.  The Nidda-Auen meadows between Frankfurter Berg and Bonames and the life they are filled with are waiting to be discovered.  The participants will encounter nature in unusual ways and will be given fascinating insights.  The tour will be guided by three experienced nature educators of the association Umweltlernen in Frankfurt e. V (Learning about our Environment in Frankfurt).  Participation is free.  The real estate development company ORCO Germany, which is responsible for the residential development project TaunusSide at Homburger Landstrasse, is the event’s sponsor.

“We are interested in ensuring that architecture, the environment and the community sustainably work together as a whole.  That is why we sponsor events that bring people together and also make them aware of ecological aspects,” is how Klaus Thiele, head of the ORCO branch office in Frankfurt, explained the background for the company’s sponsorship of the event.

In the course of the tour, the nature educators will motivate the children to play, to move about and experience nature.  Children and adolescents will be discovering old riverbeds, will study pools and ponds, learn to recognize animal tracks and will gain a clearer understanding of their own bodies.  There will be experiments with fragrant flowers, musical pieces of wood and strange animals.  In parallel, parents and grown-ups will be informed of the change the landscape in the green belt surrounding Frankfurt is undergoing, and the restoration efforts being made.

The discovery tour will start and end at the pavilion of the newly constructed TaunusSide settlement near the S-Bahn station Frankfurter Berg.  The tour is scheduled to begin at 1:30 P.M. and will end at 4:30 P.M.  After about one and a half hours, there will be a small break for a pick nick.  It is strongly suggested that participants wear sturdy shoes and clothing in line with the weather.  Should the weather not permit the outing, an alternate program has been planned.

Date: Sunday, June 1st, 2008 1:30 P.M. – about 4:30 P.M.
Meeting point: TaunusSide-Pavillon, Im Hilgenfeld 3 (via Homburger
Landstrasse, near the S-Bahn station Frankfurter Berg)

In 2006, ORCO Germany strategically reinforced its project development operations by acquiring Viterra Development GmbH.  Viterra Development GmbH was renamed ORCO Projektentwicklung GmbH at the beginning of 2008 and is one of the leading project developers and investors specializing in commercial and residential properties in the core German markets of Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich.  ORCO Germany expanded its portfolio of properties in Berlin in June of 2007 by taking over Gewerbesiedlungs-Gesellschaft (GSG); the company now manages more than 1 million square meters of developed and undeveloped areas in the German capital.  GSG was established in 1965 and is the largest owner of commercial space in Berlin with about 850,000 square meters of office and multifunctional space.  ORCO-GSG owns 45 so-called commercial courtyards and centers, as well as 235 residential units.  Most of the properties are located in the city center with excellent connections to the Berlin public transportation network.

ORCO Germany S.A. is a subsidiary of ORCO Property Group, one of the leading Central European real estate firms holding a portfolio worth EUR 2.4 billion (as evaluated on Decmber 31st, 2007).  Established in 1991, the company has its registered seat in Luxembourg and is listed on the Euronext, Prague, Budapest and Warsaw stock exchanges.  It operates primarily in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Russia, Croatia, the Slovak Republic and Germany.

By switching from the Open Market, where ORCO Germany S.A. had been listed since 2006, to the Regulated Market (Prime Standard) in November of 2007, ORCO Germany has demonstrated that it is implementing a capital market strategy consistent with its rapid operating growth of recent years.  By meeting the most exacting standards of transparency in place at the German Stock Exchange, ORCO Germany S.A. has improved its accessibility to capital market players even further.
